ANTAGONIZED- INTENSE PERVERSION ALBUM REVIEW

This band blasts all the way from the country of Panama. Antagonized will blow your fucking mind! This album contains 10 tracks of amazing brutality. Antagonized does a VERY impressive cover of the Malevolent Creation song Coronation of Our Domain! When you're done listening to them, they will continue to punch you until your head is knocked off its shoulders. Anyhow, this band will seriously kick your ass! Antagonized to me is like a mix of thrash & death metal. The cover art is quite amusing. It appears as though a nude woman is being strangled by a demons' extra long dick. Antagonized will gut you alive and feed your remains to wild dogs! I didn't know Panama had a band this good. I wonder if there are any others from out there. They'll leave you annihilated, period! They're a force like a whiplash from a car accident and they might just leave you there with every bone in your body shattered. After that is done, they will skin you alive all the way from your feet to your hands. Antagonized deserves a 5/5 stars. I recommend thes badasses if you like bands such as: Cryptopsy, Malevolent Creation, Vader, Kataklysm & Homicide. Horns up to these sick motherfuckers! This will be edited soon.

UNDERGROUND NOISE MAKES IT ON HOMICIDE'S POSTER!!!

This is THE most excited I've EVER BEEN IN A LONG ASS TIME!!! Just yesterday, thanks to Marcelo Power (drummer) of amazing, brutal, sick and technical death metal band, HOMICIDE had told me on Facebook to check my email. So I did just that and to my surprise THIS POSTER was there waiting for me. It's really cool seeing how my hand drawn logo is on there and as you can see, my logo is the first one listed!!! I've never been to one of their shows, but as they all know, they ALL have my ETERNAL SUPPORT! I'm totally blown away by their latest release which is called "MECHANIZED TORMENTS." Also to add, I will be helping Homicide in their next album in which I'll be doing backing vocals, and YES I WILL have my very own thanks list. Talk about moving up in the world, for sure! This is definitely a day in my life that I will never forget as long as I SHALL LIVE. However, not being at one of their shows isn't a problem, since there is YouTube I can watch their LIVE footage, and believe me...they do a lot of damage. This is one band that can't be passed up. Once this new album is released, I will totally be posting my thanks list on here. Count on it people. This is beyond superb, and I'm totally grateful for being friends with the band. Another dream come true, and more are to happen with being discovered. You never know what will happen one day from the next, but when something good happens...oh yeah, it's on and it's a sweet thing that can happen unexpectedly. So, other than that I thank you all for reading my latest blog, and keep metal alive forever!! \m/-_-\m/ EVILVENGEANCE666

BURIAL RITUAL INTERVIEW

Original Posting: February 8, 2011

1. Who are your influences musically?
Since we are a death metal band, mainly we like Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Vital Remains, Deicide for our general style.  We each have our own tastes as well.  I know I am into 80s thrash like Slayer, Dark Angel, Destruction and such.  I also go for death and black metal as well.  Our one guitarist Jerry A.K.A. XVII is into Devil Driver, Dope, Manson and such.  The other guitarist Jay is also into 90s death metal such as Cannibal Corpse, Fleshgrind, Deicide, Death, Morbid Angel and such.  Our bassist is various metal styles from thrash, death and black metal as well.  He likes Death Angel, Incantation, Dark Funeral and such.  Our vocalist Chris mainly into dark death metal and a little black metal as well.  He goes for Vital Remains, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide, Behemoth and Gorgoroth.  We have a common ground but also have individual tastes as well.

2. When did the band begin its quest in music?

I can sum this question along with question 8.  We began our quest and formed our band in late 2005.  Wev'e been around for a little over 5 years.

3.  How did you come up with the band name?

Before Burial Ritual, we named ourselves Toyz in the Cellar after Rats in the Attic.  We played more typical basement metal at first but went into death metal.  One thing agreed, we needed a death metal name.  Our vocalist and guitarist XVII presented the name to me at the time we were a three man group.  Chris the vocalist had the idea of rituals what after death procedures of dead bodies and such.  Alot of our songs are about these things.

4. Where do you guys practice?

We practice at my house in the basement.  Easy for me with having the drums.

5. Are you currently signed to any record label?

No, we don't have a label.  Me, I feel the same way Lips from Anvil feels, that labels aren't the same anymore and self release is probably the way to go.  But thats just me though.

6. Who are you currently listening to?

Me, I'm listening to Death Leprosy album.

7. Do you have a career outside the music?

Yeah right now I do.  We work, need a way to support the band now.  We dont make money playing yet.

8. When was the band formed?

Just as I explained in question 2.

9. Have you had any scary moments while on tour?

No.  Tour went very smoothly suprisingly.

10. Where is one place you haven't been in the world and would you like to tour there?

To me, Id like to go to Florida, the birthplace of death metal I call it.

11. What would you say has been your most accomplished thing you've done in your life?

The best thing I can say is playing shows outside of our state of Wisconsin.  We also got the band to the point of promoters chasing us.

12. What is your favorite track off the album Tower of Silence?

Mine would be Fantasy of Rape.  It was a challange writing and playing these insane drum beats but proud of that none the less.

13. Any last questions for me?

If I come up with any questions, I'll ask later on.  It was a pleasure informing you about our band.

HOMICIDE INTERVIEW

Original Posting: August 3, 2011

I have been honored to announce the newest interview with the drummer and only original member left in the band Homicide. Hailing all the way from Chile, Marcelo Power gave me his time and great effort to answer all my questions. This has been a killer interview, and it's very rare you find someone this cool in metal besides the other bands I've actually met in person. Without any further due...READ!

1. Who was the founding member of Homicide?

ONLY I REMAIN SINCE THE FIRST LINE UP BACK THERE IN 1988... A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE BEEN THROUGH OUR LINES BUT YET WE STILL ALIVE AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS… IT'S DIFFICULT TO MANTAIN 23 YEARS OF WORK, BUT THE HARDEST TIMES HAVE GONE.

2. How did you come up with your band name?

THE NAME...A CLOSE FRIEND SUGGESTED IT AND ALSO DESIGNED THE FIRST HOMICIDE LOGO (THE ONE WITH THE INVERTED CROSS)… IT'S JUST A NAME, IT HAS NO SPECIAL MEANING OR MESSAGE.. FOR SPANISH SPEAKERS IS BETTER IF YOU HAVE A SIMPLE NAME WHICH IS EASIER TO PRONOUNCE AND REMEMBER.

3. What instruments does each member prefer? Example: Fender

WE'VE USED A LOT OF BRANDS.. CURRENTLY WE'RE USING JACKSON, IBANEZ Y BC RICH.. THESE BRANDS WERE CREATED TO PLAY METAL.. IN MY OPINION FENDER IS MADE TO PLAY POP OR FOLK.. OR IF YOU WANT A CLASSIC SOUND.

4. How old are the band members?

I'M 38.. THE REST ARE LIKE 10 YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME HAHAHAHA… BUT I'VE CHOSEN MY MUSICIANS BY THEIR CAPACITY AND NOT THEIR AGE... MUSICIANS ABOUT MY AGE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR FAMILIES .. I JUST FOCUS ON MY BAND..OF COURSE I WOULD NOT PLAY WITH SOMEONE AGED 20 BECAUSE MAYBE WE'D HAVE A DIFFERENT VISION OF WHAT DEATH METAL AND MUSIC IS.

5. Where do you guys practice?

WE HAVE OUR OWN REHEARSAL PLACE. WE MEET TWICE A WEEK BUT GENERALLY I, WHEN IT'S VERY COLD HERE IN CHILE (LIKE NOW), THERE IS NOTHING LIKE PRACTICE TO GET WARM.. PLAYING ALONG WITH MY FAVOURITE ALBUMS.. IT'S VERY FUNNY AND KEEPS ME IN SHAPE.

6. Where's your favorite place to play out?

AS IT IS USUAL FOR SOUTH AMERICAN BANDS IT'S NOT COMMON TO PLAY OUTSIDE YOUR COUNTRY.. BUT TO HOMICIDE, WHEREVER THE CONDITIONS ARE APPROPIATE TO MAKE A GOOD SHOW, WE'LL BE THERE GIVING THE BEST OF US.

7. Who are your influences?

IN MUSICAL LEVEL ..OLD MALEVOLENT CREATION STUFF.. OLD MONSTROSITY ALBUMS.. ALSO VADER AND BEHEMOTH TOO..AND A LITTLE THRASH METAL OF COURSE SUCH AS SOLSTICE AND DEMOLITION HAMMER

8. How long did it take to write the album "They Work For Me?"

IT TOOK 6 MONTHS IN WRITING THE WHOLE ALBUM AND OTHER 6 MONTHS MAKING THE ARRAGEMENTS AND REHEARSING IT TO MAKE IT AS PLANNED AND WANTED. IT DIDN'T TAKE TOO LONG TO RECORD IT.

9. Do you have a career outside the band?

I HAVE A RECORDING STUDIO WHERE I'M SPECIALIZING IN RECORDING THRASH METAL BANDS.. MINOR PRODUCTIONS LIKE EP'S AND DEMOS.. AND OF COURSE ALL OF HOMICIDE HAS BEEN RECORDED HERE. I ASO WORK WITH OTHER MUSICAL STYLES AS POP OR ROCK, IN GENERAL.

10. How often does the band practice?

AS I TOLD BEFORE AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK, WE REHEARSE MORE IF NECESSARY OR JUST WORKING LONGER HOURS IF WE HAVE SOMETHING TO FINISH OR JUST PREPARE FOR A NEW SHOW.

11
Were any of the band members in previous bands?

SURE. MAURICIO - OUR BASS PLAYER - WAS IN A BAND CALLED 'DEMISSUS' (DEATH METAL) AND A BLACK METAL BAND CALLED 'VEKYGACH', BUT MANY YEARS HAVE PASSED SINCE THAT.. JANO - OUR NEW SINGER - WAS IN A BAND CALLED 'TWILIGHT MIST' WHICH PLAYED A SIMILAR STYLE TO 'OPETH'AND IN PERPETUUM AS WELL. PINCHO - OUR GUITAR PLAYER - WAS JUST PARTICIPATING IN A PERSONAL PROJECT AT THAT TIME. THE RE-INCORPORATED GUITARRIST HAS ONLY PLAYED IN HOMICIDE AS WELL AS ME, BUT I'D HAD SIDE PROJECTS.

12. Why did you choose Death Metal to write?

AT THE BEGINNING, BETWEEN 88 AND 91 WE PLAYED DEATH METAL INFLUENCED BY BANDS LIKE MASSACRA, PENTAGRAM (CHL) OR MORBID ANGEL. AFTER THAT, WHEN HOMICIDE WAS ALREADY MY OWN BAND WE CHANGED TO THRASH METAL, WHICH WE PLAYED FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. JUST IN 2004 WHEN WE'RE FASTER AND TECHNICAL WE REALISED WE NEEDED A GUTURAL VOICE AND THEN WE SWITCHED TO DEATH METAL AGAIN, IN SPITE I BELIEVE WE KEEP OUR THRASH METAL ROOTS.

13. What is your favorite song your band has written?

HARD QUESTION TO ANSWER... IF LIKE SOMEONE ASKS YOU WHICH IS YOR FAVOURITE SON HAHAHA..ACTUALLY THERE ARE MANY, BUT I CAN TELL YOU PEOPLE LIKE SONGS SUCH AS 'DIE MOTHERFUCKER', 'LET THE CHILDREN COME TO ME'AND 'THOUSAND CUTS'.

14. What was the first Death Metal band you listened to?

MANTAS I THINK, MANY YEARS AGO.. I STARTED LISTENING TO HEAVY METAL IN 1984.. THEN I WENT TO SLAYER AND AFTER THAT CAME BANDS LIKE DEATH, MANTAS, MASSACRE... AND I WAS ATTRACTED BY THIS.. OBVIUSLY WITHOUT LEAVING MY HEAVY METAL PASSION ASIDE... CLASSICS LIKE ACCEPT,SAVATAGE, RAVEN, ANVIL, ETC..

15. Any last words for Underground Noise?

I'D LIKE TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT INTEREST IN HOMICIDE.. ALWAYS WITH GOOD OPINIONS AND NICE COMMENTS TOWARDS US. WE HOPE OUR NEXT ALBUM 'MECHANIZED TORMENTS' BE IN YOUR HANDS SOON AND WE HOPE NOT TO DISSAPOINT YOU... REGARDS TO ALL MY FRIENDS IN U.S.A. (AND THEY'RE A LOT!)..AND THE BEST LUCK WITH UNDERGROUND NOISE..AND FOR YOU BROTHER!!!

ICONOCLAST INTERVIEW

Original Posting: September 23, 2011

LISTEN UP YOU METALHEADS!!! I got in touch with Pablo Escobar of Iconoclast to answer my questions, and if you haven't fucking heard his band yet, then you are all FUCKING GAY!!! JUST KIDDING!!! CHECK THEM THE FUCK OUT!!!! www.reverbnation.com/iconoclastcl

1) How did you come up with your band name?

- At first we were called 'Permafrost' because of our former guitarrist who gave the idea. We worked a little under that name but when new lyrics were created the name had almost nothing to do with them. After Fabian left the band, we changed the name to Iconoclast due to the lyrics' topic and thoughts of the band. Personally, I think it's a strong name which represents the lyrics I write and those who will be written (I already have ideas for upcoming works...)

2) Who are your influences musically?

- Woooah!! A lot of bands... there is many influences here because each one has a different background that influences in our own style as individuals, but generally our music is influences by bands like Death, Exodus, Atheist, Morbid Saint, Demolition Hammer, Heathen, Solstice, Devastation, Mercyful Fate, Revenant, Tenet, to name the most importants.

3) Do you have a favorite song by your band?

- At the moment our favourites are 'Hijo Del Caos' and 'Serpiente Alada' from our first EP. Currently we have 2 favourite new songs that are gonna be included in our first album. As soon as possible we are going to publish rehearsal videos showing advances of the new work.

4) Do you have a job outside of Iconoclast?

- Everyone does! I am a teacher of English (I'm having my degree right now) so I'm working on my thesis and teaching in a language institute as well. Victor (bass) is a publicist and he is in an advertising company of course and Juan Pablo (drums) is a designer and has his own business.

5) Where do you practice at and how often?

- We rehearse in Marcelo's place (Homicide) so we share a lot. We rehearse once a week, 2 hours due to our personal schedule, but we always try to create and improve songs whenever we can.

6) When did you get involved with extreme music?

- I was 11 o 12 when I first listened to the first albums in my life... Death, Cannibal Corpse, Emperor, Carcass, Sodom, Burzum ... then I was so interested that started to listen the most metal I could so I was getting involved with extreme metal (thrash, death, and black) and with the time the feeling was deeper and deeper and now it's part of my life. In fact, I became a musician because of that.

7) How long has Iconoclast been around?

- We've been playing for a year and 9 months... at the beggining we were working in the material for the first EP and since then a couple of little gigs here and now totally focused on the upcoming work we hope to have it ready asap!

8) What type of gear do you use to make your sound?

- Currently: Juan Pablo uses Pearl drums with Zildjian cymbals, his drum is giant!! He uses a lot of toms (now he's using more that in 'Naqoyqatsi') and cymbals as well as he is highly influenced by progressive music. Victor uses a 5-string Washburn Bass (Taurus T-25) and that's it, with his incredible finger skill he makes that sound... and I'm using right now a Jackson Warrior WRXT and a Digitech RP 355 effect with my custom distortion.

9) Do you plan on touring the U.S.A.?

- Big words for a small band dude!! We are eager to play whenever possible and if the option appears be sure we will be there and everywhere we are invited, giving our best and even more.

10) What is your local scene like?

- Chilean and South American metalheads are known because of their extreme passion for metal so here we have a good reception, good opinions and supportive guys who like the music we make. It is great in that scence to have a band here but there is no much support from people in general, music here is not seen as in USA or Europe, as a professional thing. Very sad in that way but it's not a reason to stop doing what we do like.

11) How long did it take to write "Naqoyqatsi" and what does it mean?

- It took about 4 months to write the whole material (in that moment I wasn't a part of the band) and when I arrived to the band there was the music and some lyrics. we soon started to make arragements and do the best with that, wrote some lyrics, adding little things more and in 3 weeks we were ready to record. 'Naqoyqatsi' is an Indian word which means 'Life as War' (it can be interpreted in 2 or 3 more ways but that's we wanted to mean), stating life as a internal and social struggle between ourselves and the world.

12) Where do you see your band 5 years from now?
- Very good actually. In 5 more years we will have at least 3 or 4 recordings to show, more presentations and obviously too much hard work to achieve our goals and aims. I think in 5 years we will be very good and better that we are now.

13) Are you signed?

- We are working with a South American Label/Distro called 'Digmetalworld'. It 's not like a huge record label but we are able to distribute our music there to the USA, Southamerica and parts of Europe. They are great and supportive people and we are happy to be working with them. With time we are going to look for another one if possible, but let's wait for the album first.

14) Have you had interviews before this or is this the first one?

- This is our second interview. We had one in a Chilean website called 'collapse.cl' in which we were asked about our next album at that time. This is the first in English though, for international press.

15) Any last words for Underground Noise?

- Thanks a lot for the great support and interest (especially Al) in our music (and metal in general!) stay true, keep working as you do, we appreciate the chance to talk with you and hope to be in touch soon, you'll get the first word about that album we are working on!! Horns up and cheers!!

ANTAGONIZED INTERVIEW

Original Posting: October 10, 2011

I got a hold of Först Aldst of Antagonized, and he had answered my questions for me. This band hails from Panama and I will tell you, if you DON'T have their only album Intense Perversion; then you definitely need to pick up a copy and show your fucking support for them. Brutal, sick, heavy and this band will leave you chuffed! Without any further due, check this out!! I got lucky to receive a copy from Marcelo Power (drummer) from the band Homicide!

The recording process started in April 2009 and finished in October 2009 mastering concluded in March 2010.

2.) How long ago did Antagonized begin its journey in music?

Antagonized has existed since December 2006, after I left my first death metal band.

5.) Where and how often does the band practice?

In a Studio Called ETC. We normally practice once a week.

Well I must to say that we have admiration into the old school bands that still reign; Malevolent Creation, Hypocrisy, Cannibal Corpse, Slayer.

I must to say that it was idea from the first bass player "Manitou".
