SMELLS LIKE SOMEONE DIED- PASSAGE TO HADES (EP REVIEW)

With claiming their own style which can be described as Funeral Thrash, this West coast Texas band known as Smells Like Someone Died infiltrate the listener with some Thrash Metal riffs & vocals, along with some groove and some Death Metal growls too. SLSD in some spots sound like Cannibal Corpse vocally like back when Barnes was in it and a tad like Devildriver a little bit. The ambient intro called Funeral Cacophony is quite impressive for those who like ambient sounding keyboards and effects. Even seeing them LIVE will show the fans that SLSD is capable of ripping them a new one. Overall, this band has shared the stage with bands like Psycroptic, Abigail Williams, All That Bleeds, Plagues & Origin to name a few. Smells Like Someone Died is a band of dynamic sounds within their talents and I can definitely see this band growing on someone just by the first listen. So if you like bands like Devildriver, Cannibal Corpse & Origin, then I MUST recommend Smells Like Someone Died, and if they don't get you moving to their beat, then you are doing something totally wrong! This EP gets a 5/5 stars based on their musicianship and also their own creative way of coining their own sound. Until next time metalheads, keep the Underground Metal scene alive, keep supporting METAL & MOST OF ALL;  ALWAYS KEEP THOSE HORNS UP FOREVER!!! EVILVENGEANCE666 \m/-_-\m/

I AM THE TRIREME- UNHOLY (EP REVIEW)

If you're into symphonic sounding black metal/ death metal, then I Am the Trireme is just for you. Coming out of Philadelphia PA is this amazing 5 piece band. Striking compositions that are moving, catchy & most of all original. Featuring sounds for fans of Dimmu Borgir & Dark Tranquillity to name a couple. Poisoning screams that attack like a snake. This 5 song EP has very good potential and I can definitely see this band growing on the listener as they hear something NEW with a bit of some old school sounds as well. Personally speaking, my favorite song off of Unholy would be I Am Many. Which happens to be an old track taking from their previous release in 2010. Talk about some great musicianship and brutal, that song is killer. The double bass drums are low enough so they sound great without having to sound like popcorn unlike some bands have been doing for a while now. So metalheads, this EP gets a 5/5 stars and it's quite great to hear NEW bands that are doing what these guys are. Until next time everyone, this is EVILVENGEANCE666 telling y'all to keep those horns UP!! \m/-_-\m/ SUPPORT UNDERGROUND METAL!!!!

THINNING THE HERD- OCEANS RISE (ALBUM REVIEW)

If you like Corrosion of Conformity, then you'll love Thinning the Herd. This band is a great combination of stoner metal & hard rock fused riffs and beats that will get fans to endure what TTH is capable of. A little bit like Black Label Society & Alice in Chains too in some spots. The album is guaranteed to reach out to those who are accepting of this style of music. Forget the mainstream, the underground music scene is much more exciting anyway. Raspy vocals at times, striking drums & a bit of groove to their riffs is what makes this band unique. Thinning the Herd can mellow out anyone even if they're not into stoner metal. I'd have to say that I like the whole album and can't quite place a favorite song on it. I highly recommend this, and I give it a 5/5 stars for being of superb quality and the production is very excellent.  They are a bit bluesy, might I add. The sound isn't too overwhelming like some bands can be nowadays.  Also to add, I want to grant my condolences to the family of the band's former drummer who passed away and the members of the band as well.  Anyhow metalheads until next time, this is EVILVENGEANCE666 saying KEEP YOUR HORNS UP!! \m/-_-\m/ KEEP THE UNDERGROUND ALIVE!!!!!
